What is corporate social responsibility?

Corporate social responsibility, often abbreviated “RSC”, are the corporation’s initiatives to evaluate and take responsibility for the effects of the company on social and environmental welfare. The term is generally applied to efforts that go beyond what may be required by regulators or environmental protection groups. Not only does it provide an immediate financial benefit to the company, but it also promotes positive social and environmental change.

It is the active and voluntary contribution of companies to the social, economic, environmental and human rights improvement.
